Review: Pokemon Empyrean
I know it is not a rom hack but I had to post it. I am almost at the end of this fan game(RpgXp) and it is not just my favourite Pokemon game but my favourite game of all time. I played other top tiers such as Reborn, Insurgence, Legends of arena etc. But none of them hold a candle to this.
Plot: I don't want to spoil anything but it is awesome. Everything gives out small clues, and as you go on everything gets connected in the large picture.... Ahhh, I can't say anything more without spoiling. There is so much lore an everything else helps to give you the best possible experience, like music. {SSS tier}
Music: I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!! Every city has a good and fitting music, while battle music fits the mood perfectly. The boss battle music makes you excited and not to mention, rain and waves sound make it better.{SSS tier}
Gameplay: Not as good as Insurgence {Man I love Insurgence features} but probably my second favourite. Like there is so much in it. You can change your clothes, skin colour, hair colour. New Pokemons and regional forms can't get any better. The only thing I don't like about this is the fact that I got haxxed so many times but that happens in every game lol. A lot of items are present, side quests, boss battles, fusions, mega evolutions (new ones too), new abilities, new items, and I am sure I missed a lot of them. Difficulty is kinda hard, and you cannot beat some boss battles without spamming revives. Comedy factor makes it even better. You also get to choose between all 18 starter, post game is amazing{SS tier}
Characters: Oh man, here we go. For me it was even better than Reborn. Gym leaders aren't just badge givers, but are interesting and play some major roles in story (Like Ashy and Kairon). Blitz and Moira are incredibly amazing rivals. Their character development is so good. I don't want to spoil this either. The battlefield with villains is set up incredibly well. Many dialogues are so funny. The characters can just put up a smile on your face.{SSS tier}
I don't know what category I did not cover. I can't even remember. I felt like 'this game can't get any better' so many times, but it crossed my expectation. I don't think it is possible for anyone to hate this game.
Overall my only SSS tier game. Give it a go and you will love it. I respect the author for completing this fan game in such a short amount of time.6
